Looking back and looking forward
I started working as a tour guide in 2009 and I’m happy that I’m still doing it.
Although there were bumps along the way — just like any other trip — it seems like I will be doing this until I stop breathing. I am grateful to the people who have helped me in this grand tour.
It’s because of my wife who stood by me and continues to inspire me to do what I can to reach my goals that I’m still here. Aimee has been supportive and helps me to take the challenge. She remained steadfast on those days while I’m away and I have nothing but love and gratitude for her. You’re the reason I went through all this, bebe.
I also want to thank the people who continue to inspire me. Off the top of my head, I want to thank you, Ms. Susan Calo-Medina, for believing in my capabilities and having confidence in me. You are the standard, the queen of Philippine travel and to this day, I’ll always remember your words: “You’re only as good as your last show.”
To tour guide extraordinaire, the Pied Piper of Manila, Señor Carlos Celdran, thank you very much for inspiring me to be a tour guide. Your energy and passion for the country showed me that I can be part of something greater than myself. I’ll always be your fan.
To friends who’ve remained friends with me, thank you. Your support and encouragement have kept me going through the occasional hell. You’ve also reminded me of the kind of person that I am. I love you guys. To our good looks and sexxxy bodies! :-)
To the men and women in the front line who took on the hard work with a smile and warmth that I think is one of the best in the world, I salute you. Our efforts will be rewarded someday and your sacrifice will not be in vain. The world is ours! Keep the faith.
To the travelers who I’ve been with who took time to visit the Philippines, thank you very much. We need more good news about the country and the best way to spread the word is through people like you. We need people like you to contribute in transforming our image into a better one.
A project that will showcase one of the country’s biggest advantage/disadvantage. I will work hard and do my best to turn that into reality. I hope it will draw the kind of visitors that we need. Stay tuned.
Before the rising sun we fly
So many roads to choose
We start out walking
And learn to run
And yes! We’ve just begun
