A trip and some thoughts in Tagaytay
Aimee and I almost booked Sonya’s Garden for our wedding reception six years ago. We really enjoyed our visit especially their nice cottages. Loved the food too! It’s a good break from all the “healthy” stuff I’ve been eating in the city.
We weighed the pros and cons and ended up at Hacienda Isabella in Cavite but we loved the idea of staying overnight at Sonya’s Garden. Years passed and we finally decided to book one of their cottages, The Chamomile. There was no TV. It also had poor network signal, which was OK because the whole idea was to get away from all the distractions from the weird wired world.
There’s nothing much to do at Sonya’s Garden except to sleep, eat and relax. It just felt right. I wanted to spend time with my wife outside the city and in five years’ time, I can take her to places that she would surely enjoy (London’s top priority).
A lot of things were on my mind and I believe that if I wrote it and declare these goals, they will happen so I’m putting them here now:
- Be the best husband that I could be to Aimee.
- Stay fit and healthy beginning on 2014.
- Be the best tour guide that I could be.
- Set aside enough money before Aimee and I reach the age of 60.
- Have our own place by 2017 and a pet dog too.
- Take a trip to Europe (England, Italy, France and Spain) by 2019.
How? I’ll take the advice of my great grandfather by working more than I’m paid for and backing up my goals with concerted effort. I’ll work hard to make these happen because what do I have to lose anyway?
