This five-day road trip takes you to the Philippine Cordilleras. We begin with a local bus trip going up to Banaue and spend the next few days hiking up to the rice terraces and hanging coffins. This is a good way to know about life in the highlands.
We will trek for a view of the Batad rice terraces, see mementos in the Bontoc Museum, have a cup of civet coffee and visit the hanging coffins in Sagada. Our friends, the F.B.I. (Full-Blooded Igorot) will also act as our guides and of course, we will do what the locals do — chew moma (that’s betel nut) and finish a bottle of tapuy (rice wine). Our trip ends with a night of karaoke in Baguio before taking a bus the next day to Manila.
This tour is not for the fainthearted or for those who have a fear of heights. It may be physically exhausting but the experience, amazing views and the knowledge of the Philippine Cordilleras will all be worth it.
